Free Fire Extinguisher Training Videos
A fire extinguisher only helps if the person holding it knows the fire classes, the PASS method, and – most importantly – when to fight and when to get out. These free training videos cover it all: the fire triangle, matching extinguisher types to Class A, B, C, D, and K fires, aiming at the base, sweeping, monthly checks, and the judgment call that keeps small fires from becoming fatal ones. Watch them free, no email required.
Free videos build awareness – but where employees are expected to use extinguishers, OSHA (29 CFR 1910.157) requires training at initial assignment and at least annually, alongside your emergency action plan. Use the videos and the free practice test below to check your team’s knowledge, then see how the complete kit documents that annual training for every employee.

Fire Extinguisher Training Questions
Are these fire extinguisher training videos free?
Yes – every video streams free with no email required. Only the downloadable toolbox talk and printable practice test, and the paid kit, are gated.
Does OSHA require fire extinguisher training?
Yes – where an employer provides portable extinguishers and expects employees to use them, OSHA 1910.157(g) requires training on their use and the hazards of incipient firefighting at initial assignment and at least annually. Sites with a total-evacuation policy have different obligations under the emergency action plan rules instead.
What does PASS stand for?
Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire, Squeeze the handle, Sweep side to side. Aim at the burning fuel, not the flames – and watch for reflash after the fire appears to be out.
What are the classes of fire?
Class A – ordinary combustibles; Class B – flammable liquids and gases; Class C – energized electrical equipment; Class D – combustible metals; Class K – cooking oils and grease. The extinguisher’s label tells you which classes it’s rated for; using the wrong type can make a fire worse.
When should you NOT fight a fire?
When the alarm hasn’t been raised yet, the fire is spreading or larger than incipient stage, smoke is filling the room, you don’t have the right extinguisher, or the fire could cut off your escape route. When in doubt, evacuate – extinguishers empty in roughly 10-25 seconds.
